The FALL CAMP 2026 Outreach Project:
Tabasamu Oral Health Initiative

We will collect toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss at Fall Camp for the Tabasamu Initiative. The objective of this project is to provide oral health education programs in the Rift Valley of Kenya to schools from kindergarten through university. The project will build a foundation on the importance of oral health in order to help prevent oral health problems that contribute to other illnesses. The project team will visit the schools every four months to provide new toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss.

In addition, the project will identify children 9 years and older whose teeth have been discolored by flourosis, a condition caused by the high natural concentration of fluoride in local water supplies. Children with brown teeth often develop low self-esteem and are bullied and excluded. These children will be illegible for bonding, a process that whitens their teeth.and prevents further fluoride damage.

The dream of the Tabasamu Oral Health Initiative is to change one smile at a time and raise the self-esteem and confidence of as many children as possible. Changing their smiles will change their life stories.
